Napoleon 54, East Jackson 0: The Pirates rushed for more than 250 yards and posted eight rushing touchdowns in going 2-0. Bart Laretz had a huge night for Napoleon with three touchdowns on offense and 10 tackles on defense and a sack. NHS quarterback Grant Bradley accounted for more than 250 yards of offense and two touchdowns and Nick Marienfeld scored a pair of touchdowns. Austin Tingley threw for 69 yards and Mason Dingee recorded five tackles for East Jackson (0-2 overall, 0-1 Cascades). 

Britton Deerfield 62, Concord 8: Tyler Carpenter finished with 92 yards rushing, including a 58-yard touchdown run For Concord (1-1 overall, 0-1 Tri-River). “Britton Deerfield is a tough team,” CHS Coach Max Clark said. “They are very athletic and physical. We were down five defensive starters part way through the second quarter.”

Michigan Center 42, Hanover-Horton 0: Michigan Center running back Kaydin Hiland scored four times in the first half as the Cardinals took a 28-0 halftime lead. Daylen Hinkle ran for 77 yards and Mitchell Corwin added 65 yards. Brody Shannon and Reid Scaife added touchdowns for MCHS in the fourth quarter. Michigan Center (2-0 overall, 1-0 Cascades) has now outscored its opponents 81-0 so far this season. Gavin Gumper threw for 55 yards and Josh Frailey rushed for 39 yards for Hanover-Horton (1-1 overall, 0-1 Cascades). Wyatt Hill finished with five tackles for HHHS on defense. 

Grand Ledge 45, Jackson 0: Tavion Tanner accounted for nearly 130 yards of offense for Jackson in the loss. The Vikings are 1-1 overall for the season. 

Lumen Christi 28, Coldwater 14: The Titans led 14-0 after five minutes of football action at home on Thursday.  Derrick Walker scored on a 59-yard touchdown run and Nick Wilson added another in the first quarter. Lumen Christi is 2-0 overall, 1-0 in the Interstate-8 Conference. 

Western 27, Northwest 13: Nolan Wheeler ran for two touchdowns and threw for another as the Panthers earned a rivalry win over Northwest. Wheeler hit Cole Wilcox for a 54-yard touchdown pass for Western in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Carlos Ramos and Mitch Williams combined for 21 tackles for Western (2-0 overall, 1-0 Interstate-8). Quarterback Isaiah Grybauskas accounted for more than 200 yards of offense for Northwest (1-1 overall, 0-1 Interstate-8). 

Addison 42, Manchester 13: The Panthers rushed for 351 yards in the win over Manchester. Ryan Worsham ran 10 times for 125 yards and three touchdowns for Addison (2-0 overall, 1-1 Cascades). Nicholas Trumble ran for two scores and Keelin Mullin rushed for 115 yards and one touchdown. 

Adrian 20, Columbia Central 0: Ty Farmer finished with 21 tackles, Ryan Ladd added 14 stops, and  Braden Berro finished with 11 tackles and an interception for CCHS (1-1 overall). “Adrian came out and played with a lot of emotion and we had a hard time matching their emotion,” CCHS Coach Josh Kubiak said.  “Once the game settled down, we did a great job defensively stopping them and offensively making adjustments and moving the ball.” Offensively, CCHS sophomore Braden Ellison led the Golden Eagles with 19 carries for 65 yards.  

Reading 30, Grass Lake 12: Jack Reid threw for 142 yards for Grass Lake and Andrew Stockton ran for one touchdown and nearly 100 yards. The Warriors are 0-2 overall.  

NorthPointe Christian 46, Vandercook Lake 20: Vandercook Lake fell to 0-2 with the road loss. 

Bronson 50, Springport 43: Dylan Sanford ran for three touchdowns and passed for another for Springport (0-2 overall, 0-1 Big 8). Race Spurbeck accounted for two scores for the Spartans. 

Boys soccer

Onsted 10, Jackson Christian 2: Blaine Spry and Jayden Lanham scored goals for the Royals.  

Girls golf

Independent Golf League Concord jamboree: Lenawee Christian won the jamboree at Concord Hills Golf Course with 184. Columbia Central finished second (218) and Concord placed fourth (258). Logan Bentley shot a 46 and Emily Fox carded a 54 for CCHS. Sidney Marshall shot 62 to lead Concord. 

Jackson at SEC meet: Jackson High School finished second at the Southeastern Conference tri-meet at Inverness Country Club. Ann Arbor Skyline won the event with 175 and Jackson shot 209. Natalie Kulka shot a 38, Felicia Huffman finished with a 51, and Astella Sharp carded a 58 for Jackson. 

Tennis

Plymouth Christian 6, Columbia Central 2: Daniel Pero and Nik Panergo won at Nos. 1 and 2 singles respectively for the Golden Eagles. Columbia Central lost three matches in third-set tiebreakers.
