Classic rock acts Foreigner and Styx will be playing the Jackson County Fair on August 7th.   These are the first acts to be announced for this year’s fair.

Foreigner  has been widely known as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with ten multi-platinum albums and sixteen Top 30 hits. Foreigner is responsible for the worldwide #1 hit “I Want To Know What Love Is” and many other popular anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Hot Blooded,” “Waiting For A Girl Like You,” and “Feels Like The First Time.” After the release of Foreigner’s debut album in 1977, fans immediately fell in love with their sound, and their following album, 4, topped the charts as Billboard’s #1.

Styx is famously known as the first group to land four triple-platinum albums in a row: The Grand Illusion (1977), Pieces of Eight (1978), Cornerstone (1979), and Paradise Theater (1981). Some of their soaring power ballads include “Come Sail Away,” and “Babe,” while hits like “Renegade,” and “Too Much Time On My Hands” showcase the bands hard-hitting side. Committed to rocking Paradise together, they are now entering their second decade of averaging over 100 shows a year. Drummer Todd Sucherman notes, “The legacy of this band will be that it brought joy to millions of people.”

Tickets for the 7 PM August 7th show will go on sale Saturday, February 2nd at 9 AM.  Tickets can be purchased at the Jackson County Fair Box office, etix.com or can be charged by calling (800) 517-3849 or (517) 788-4405.
