The Great American Smoke Out is Thursday, November 21 and Rhonda Rudolph, Jackson Tobacco Reduction Coalition shared statistics on Jackson County and smoking with the audience today.  Statewide, Jackson ranks high among counties with above average rates of adult and teen smokers.  Those who would like to quit for the Smoke Out can find a variety of assistance at the Jackson County Health Department and with the State Department of Community Health.  Other guests:  Wilson Academy Students Genea Hall, Destiny Johns and Carzell Cain with their school’s community service projects;  Wendy Clifton, A Frame Above Holiday Open House (Saturday);  Singer-Guitarist Johnny Aimcrier;  Downtown Christmas Parade Chairman Ed Hatfield (parade is Friday and details here);  Pet of the Week with Sue Lovell, Cascades Humane Society.
