(June 26, 2020 5:08 PM) The Michigan Department of Transportation has issued a travel advisory for the I-94 project in Jackson County.

The following closures are for the I-94 Corridor Project.  Portable changeable message sign (PCMS) will display the following messages:

Beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, June 27, through 12 p.m.

*Westbound I-94 right lane from Cooper Street to West Avenue will be closed.

Beginning at 6 a.m. Friday, June 26, through Thursday, July 2, 3 p.m.

*Westbound I-94 ramp to southbound US-127 (exit 142) ramp will be closed and detoured.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 2, through 3 p.m.

*Westbound I-94 lane closure from I-94 Business Loop (Sargent Road) to West Avenue to shift onto new westbound roadway.

In the upcoming week, work will continue on the westbound I-94 bridge over the Grand River, consisting of sealing joints. Crews will continue reconstructing westbound I-94 by placing concrete curb and gutter. Additionally, the contractor will continue milling out the existing pavement from Elm Avenue to Sargent Road and will begin resurfacing westbound I-94.

 Traffic maintenance for this upcoming week will include a split-merge configuration and reduced speed zones along I-94 between Sargent Road and Elm Avenue. The Sargent Road on ramp and the US-127 southbound off ramp will be closed until June 27. Traffic will be maintained between Elm Avenue and Lansing Avenue with shoulder closures and reduced speed zones. The Cooper Street entrance ramp to westbound I-94 will be closed until mid-summer.
