JCDOT Announces Thursday Road Closures

(September 16, 2020 6:48 PM)  The Jackson County Department of Transportation has announced the following road closures:

Hinckley, Stonewall

will close Hinckley Road between Browns Lake Road and Francis Street, also Stonewall Road between Horton Road and Badgley Road for Fog sealing on Thursday, September 17, 2020, weather permitting.

Fog seal is a special coating comprised of asphalt oil mixed with water that is applied to the roadway surface. Fog seals are a low-cost treatment used to help preserve existing hot-mix asphalt pavement surfaces. It extends the life of the pavement by binding to the road surface as it dries, leaving a tough film that essentially waterproofs the surface.

Hinckley Road and Stonewall Road will re-open at the end of the day. Traffic regulators will be onsite to maintain local traffic; however, motorists should seek alternative routes.

McCain Road

The Jackson County Department of Transportation will close McCain Road between Chapel Road and Sandstone Road for a BioRestor®️ application on Thursday, September 17, 2020, weather permitting.

BioRestor®️ protects the pavement, reduces cracking, increases flexibility, prevents deterioration, and increases the life cycle of the asphalt. BioRestor®️ is all-natural, and has a Pine-Sol like smell.

McCain Road will re-open at the end of the day. Traffic regulators will be onsite to maintain local traffic; however, motorist should seek alternative routes
