Baseball

Lumen Christi 4, Chelsea 2: The Titans scored four times in the bottom of the sixth inning with key doubles by Ryan Walicki and Blake Hetherington. Ben Gaston also knocked in a run for LCCHS.

Gabriel Richard 10, Northwest 5: Drew Maples finished with three hits and an RBI, Gabe Christner recorded two hits, and Doug Putnam knocked in two runs for the Mounties.

Softball

Homer 6, Concord 3: Cieara Barrett finished with two hits and an RBI for Concord.

Homer 17, Concord 7: Riley Adams had three hits and knocked in two runs for the Yellowjackets. Cieara Barrett also had two hits for Concord.

Skyline 19, Jackson 0

Northwest 12, Springport 11:The Mounties scored eight times in the seventh inning to pull out the win. Izzy Rogers hit a three-run homer in the seventh for Northwest. Ava Golightly finished with three hits and Mollie Robinson had two hits and three RBIs for Northwest. Rebekkah Betz and Chloey Speer each collected three hits for Springport.

Northwest 4, Springport 3: Ari Good had two hits and two RBIs and Morgan Sellers hit a home run for Northwest in the win. Brenna Crittenden and Jordan Reed each had a pair of hits for Springport.

Girls Soccer

Columbia Central 6, Napoleon 0: Mara Henry scored four goals as the Golden Eagles played its third match in four days. Kennedy Salter and Kolie Brown also scored goals for CCHS. Columbia improves to 11-6 over-all and finishes Cascades Conference play with a 9-5 record. Napoleon falls to 1-12-3 over-all and 1-10-2 in the Cascades with one game to play.

Girls Tennis

Jackson, Northwest at D2 Regional: Both Jackson and Northwest high schools tied for sixth place with six points at the Division 2 regional at East Lansing. Hollis Rumler of Northwest advanced to the semifinal round in No. 1 singles. Lindsea Baker/Ally Thrun also advanced to the semifinal round at No. 4 doubles for the Mounties.

Region 12 Tournament at Jackson College

Grand Rapids 7, Jackson 2: The Jets lost at home in the first round of the Regional 12 Tournament Thursday. Max Bowers recorded two hits and Mitchell Smith finished with one hit and one RBI for Jackson. The Jets faced Kalamazoo Valley in an elimination game at 6 p.m. at Jackson College.

Jackson 14, Kalamazoo Valley 6: It looked like a short night for Jackson College pitcher Colin Presnar when a Kalamazoo Valley batter homered over the left field fence – a one-bouncer to the concession stand. But the right-handed pitcher settled down and gave up only one run in the next four innings. Marcus Patton took over from there. Patton hit a pair of home runs and knocked in 10 runs to lead Jackson to the win. Caden Oliver from Western High School finished with three hits and two RBIs in the win. Jackson advances to play the loser of Kellogg and Grand Rapids Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at Jackson College in another elimination game.

Field events start at 2 p.m., 3,200-meter relay at 3 p.m., preliminaries at 3:30 p.m. in 100, 200, and high hurdles, 5 p.m. running finals.

Division 2 at Mason

B.C. Harper Creek, B.C. Pennfield, Charlotte, DeWitt, Eaton Rapids, Hastings, Ionia, Lake Odessa Lakewood, Lansing Eastern, Lansing Sexton, Marshall, Mason, Northwest, Portland, and Western.

Field events start with pole vault at 2:30 and remainder of field events at 3 p.m., at 3:30 p.m. running of 3,200-meter relay, 4 p.m. preliminaries in 100, 200, and high hurdles, 6 p.m. running finals.

Division 3 at Hillsdale

Bronson, Columbia Central, Constantine, Galesburg-Augusta, Grass Lake, Hanover-Horton, Hillsdale, Homer, Jonesville, Lumen Christi, Michigan Center, Napoleon, Quincy, Springport, and Union City.

Field events at 2 p.m. (pole vault), throws and jumps 3 p.m., preliminaries at 4 p.m., at 6:15 finals expected to start.

Division 4 at Concord

B.C. St. Philip, Bellevue, Byron, Climax-Scotts, Concord, Dansville, East Jackson, Jackson Prep, Lansing Christian, Morrice, Portland St. Patrick, Potterville, Vandercook Lake, Vermontville Maple Valley, and Webberville.

Pole vault starts at 2 p.m. with remainder of field events at 3 p.m., the 3,200-meter relay and preliminaries start at 4 p.m., finals are one hour after preliminaries (approximately 6 p.m.)
