(July 10, 2020 3:43 PM) The Jackson County Department of Transportation (JCDOT) has announced that Phase 2 of the McDevitt Avenue Reconstruction Project will start on Monday, July 13, 2020.
McDevitt Avenue will be closed to traffic between Francis Street and Draper Road for the duration of the project, with completion anticipated in November. Local traffic access for residents will be maintained at all times during the project. Residents trying to access businesses at the western end of the project (Polly’s, Subway, BP, etc.) are encouraged to enter the work zone at Francis Street. Phase 1 of the project, from Draper Road to US-127, is currently being constructed with completion expected in August.
This project was made possible by a Michigan Enhancement Grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
The contractor for Phase 2 of this project is Hoffman Brothers, Inc., headquartered in Battle Creek, Michigan. Hoffman Brothers was the lowest bidder at a cost of $2.86 million.
