(May 14, 2020 12:24 PM) The Jackson County Parks Department has canceled the first of three scheduled firework shows for the 2020 season. The Memorial Day Firework Show was scheduled for Saturday, May 23. Sponsored by The Myers Family Little Caesars of Jackson, the first show traditionally marks the opening of the season at The Cascades. Decisions regarding the July and September shows will be made be as more information becomes available.
“The safety and health of our entire community, park visitors, and staff is our first priority when making these decisions,” said Kyle Lewis, Deputy Parks Director for Jackson County Parks. “Thousands of people view the fireworks from Sparks Foundation County Park (Cascades Park) and gatherings of that size are just not safe or permitted at this time.”
Additional information on cancellations and closings can be found at JacksonCountyParks.org.
