The 3rd Annual Nite Lites Christmas 5K Fun Run/Walk will be held on Thanksgiving Eve, November 23rd  to launch the season with Jackson’s newest holiday tradition at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will travel from the North Pole to officially launch the 5K Fun Run at 6pm and the 5K Fun Walk at 6:30pm.  Miss Jackson Crossroads 2016, Courtney Clark and 2016 Miss Jackson Crossroads Outstanding Teen, Katie Powell will join the jolly couple at the starting line.

Holiday music will greet participants inside the festively decorated American 1 Event Center where race packet pick-up for on-line registrants will begin at 2pm and continue until the event start.  On-site registration will also be available for $30 per person.  Children age 5 and under are free!

“We are thrilled to bring this unique holiday experience of walking through the Nite Lites” said John Spink, Nite Lites Chairman.  “Our hope from the very onset of this event was to create a tradition on Thanksgiving Eve as families and friends gathered for the long weekend and support educational scholarships for Jackson County women.”

Thousands of twinkling lights and lit Holiday displays adorn the magical walk.  This is the only evening pedestrians are permitted to enjoy Nite Lites on foot.  On Thanksgiving Day, the event is observed only by driving through with vehicles continuing through January 3, 2017.

On-line registration for the Nite Lites Christmas 5K Fun Run/Walk is available until midnight, Tuesday, November 22nd.  On-site registration will open at 2pm on Wednesday, November 23rd and continue until the event begins at 6pm.  NEW THIS YEAR – a $20 no shirt registration!
