One Night in Memphis: The #1 Tribute to Presley, Perkins, Lewis & Cash

(September 22, 2020 5:27 PM) With performing arts venues closed in the region, the Potter Center at Jackson College will offer a Virtual Series, free for the community, this fall.

“We were looking for ways to engage our patrons, to let our patrons know we are still thinking of them,” said Sandra Phelan, operations coordinator. “Fall tours have been canceled with the continued shutdown. This is a way to offer entertainment and to help people stay connected with the arts.”

Shows will be available for three days from the premier date on YouTube. Check a link on the Jackson College website for access; www.jccmi.edu/pottercenter/virtual-series/.

An America’s Got Talent finalist from Season 8, Catapult is a magical production that features incredible dancers who work behind a screen to create shadow silhouettes of shapes from the world around us.

·         Oct. 9, 10, 11 and Nov. 6, 7, 8 — Episode #1 features the piece based on Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” and includes a Shadow Play tutorial showing kids how to make a shadow frog.

·         Oct. 16, 17, 18 and Nov. 13, 14, 15 Episode #2 includes a piece called “SPY” and an extended  Shadow Play Tutorial showing kids how to make a Monkey, a Bird, a Creepy Spider and a Dog. 

·         Oct, 23, 24, 25 and Nov. 20, 21, 22  Episode #3 features a piece called “GO WEST” – a celebration of the frontier and pioneering spirit of the U.S.A. – and another Shadow Play Tutorial showing families how to make a shadow ostrich, a bear and a penguin and demonstrates the skill and artistry of the Catapult dancers.
