(July 30, 2020 5:35 PM) The Jackson County Relay for Life is being held almost completely virtually this year.  Organizers are planning online activities for this year’s fundraiser event.

Kym Parker, Event Lead, said all activities are posted on Facebook and have included team members participating in a scavenger hunt, online auction, campsite decorating and more.

One signature event of the Relay each year is the Luminaria Ceremony, where families and friends honor loved ones lost to cancer.  The Relay team has arranged with Cascades Baptist Church to conduct a Drive Thru Luminaria Ceremony on Friday night in the church parking lot (1012 West High Street, Jackson).  The ceremony will be streamed on Facebook.  The event will be from 9 PM to 10 PM Friday, July 31.

Also on Friday, an Opening Ceremony and team roll call.  Saturday, Survivor recognition presentation and other events will be held virtually.
