
Michigan International Speedway Director of Guest Services Tim Booth is making preparations for the Spirit of America Blood Drive September 11. The annual blood drive at the racetrack began as a tribute in 2002 in honor of the victims and heroes of 9-11. Since its inception in 2002, the Spirit of America blood drive has collected more than 9,300 pints of blood, positively affecting more than 27,900 lives. The speedway has a number of activities planned to remember victims and first responders from the tragic events of 9-11. Events will begin at 6 a.m. on Sept. 11 and will conclude at 6 p.m. Advance appointments are required and they may be made here.
