(March 21, 2020 6:25 PM) The Michigan Department of Attorney General is canceling the Consumer Protection tip line hours for Sunday as the office implements a program to allow employees to work from home.

The call lines were staffed by department employees and legislators who agreed to help staff the office’s Consumer Protection tip line: Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin, state Sens. Curtis Hertel Jr. and Jeremy Moss, and Reps. Julie Brixie, Christine Greig, Jim Haadsma, Kara Hope, Sheryl Kennedy, Matt Koleszar, Laurie Pohutsky, Yousef Rabhi and Angela Witwer, and Wayne County Commissioner David Knezek, who is also Nessel’s director of legislative affairs.

Generally, the phone lines are operated from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Attorney General’s office has received a high volume of consumer complaints of price-gouging related to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Complaints may be filed online or by calling the Consumer Protection tip line at 877-765-8388.
