DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., May 22, 2015 – The Symetra Tour, Road to the LPGA, is excited to announce that the Tour will hold its first-ever Monday Qualifier at the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship on Monday, June 1 at Battle Creek Country Club. Tee times will begin at 8:30 a.m. The maximum field size for the qualifier is 78. 

The low two finishers will earn entry into the field for the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, which begins on Friday, June 5 and concludes with final-round play on Sunday, June 7. The total tournament purse is $100,000 and the winner will earn $15,000.

“Interest in playing in Symetra Tour events continues to grow and we’re excited to host our first Monday Qualifier to give local amateurs, professionals, as well as Symetra Tour members not in the field an opportunity to play their way into the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship,” said Chief Business Officer Mike Nichols. “We’re using this as a test and, if successful, we plan on hosting more Monday Qualifiers in the future.”

The Monday Qualifier will take place from the tournament tees. In the case of a tie, there will be a playoff for the two spots. 

The qualifier is open to all amateurs and professionals that have a 4.0 handicap or less. To get into the qualifier, you must send an application to Linda Small at LPGA Headquarters (100 International Golf Drive, Daytona Beach, Florida, 32124) by Wednesday, May 27.
