The Michigan Department of Transportation will be closing the westbound I-94 interchange at M-106 (Cooper Street) for reconstruction. Both the exit ramp and entrance ramp will be closed. This work is part of the ongoing I-94 corridor project.
The westbound interchange at M-106 (Cooper Street) will close starting at 7 AM on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. The estimated completion date is Friday, November 15, 2019.
The I-94 Cooper Street interchange is being completely redesigned and rebuilt during this project. This includes the addition of new roundabouts on each side of the new bridge and reconstructing each of the ramps. It is at this interchange where I-94 will be shifted approximately 60 feet south of its current location.
MDOT is advising motorists to seek alternate routes and to follow posted detours.
