Center for Family Health Announces New Clinic

The Center for Family Health President and CEO Molly Kaser announced the Center will add a clinic location at LifeWays later this month (details here).  Kaser and LifeWays CEO Maribeth Caldwell discussed the expansion on today's show.  Other guests include:  JCC students Casey Clark and Katie Zuke reporting on their alternative spring break;  a trip to Laughlin's Slice of Spice for pizza dough tossing;  Susan B. iCreate Winners Announced

John Voelz, organizer of iCreate, the student poetry and music competition, introduced this year's winners:  Grand Prize winner Ethan Trader and 2nd Place Winner Alicia Tovar.  Ethan and Alicia shared their poems and the musical performance of Ethan's piece was shown.  iCreate was held Wednesday night at the Michigan Theatre.  Other guests:  Bill Rayl and Annette Norris from JAMA;  Allegiance Health President and CEO Georgia Fojtasek;  Elaine Crosby from Jackson Area Catholic Schools;  Kiwanis film producer Marlin Darrah.

Vikings Hire Farley as New Coach

It became official on March 4 when longtime Leslie High School football coach Scott Farley announced he was leaving the Blackhawk program and taking over at Jackson. “This was a very, very difficult decision to make,” Farley said. “The people in and around the Leslie program and community have been very supportive and we’ve built something special here. I had to take some time before making a decision, but I look forward to this challenge.” And quite a challenge it will be… The difference in the programs is immense. Farley compiled a 117-82 record at Leslie - including an 84-42 mark since 2001 – three conference championships and trips to the state semi-finals in 2007 and 2008.    The ‘Hawks have featured one of the area’s most high-powered offenses in recent years and have waged several epic battles with perennial area power Grass Lake. The Vikings, on the other hand and although playing on a larger stage, have struggled, going winless last year and 4-23 the last three years. Jackson Blazer Celebrates 50 Years
