Locker Room presented by County National Bank is the weekly JTV Sports show covering all area high school athletics during the school year. In the summer, Locker Room focuses on the area’s top golfers and much more. Each week we feature game highlights, game recaps, interviews with athletes and coaches; the Ductz of Mid Michigan High School Scholar Athlete of the Week and commentary from the JTV Sports crew.

Joel Freehling

Joel Freehling

Joel Freehling got his start on JTV after winning a local sports writing competition. He is a Navy veteran, holds a BA from Bowling Green State University, and an MA from Michigan State University. When not covering Jackson area athletics he works at the Jackson Area Career Center, and volunteers with the Cascades Humane Society. During his time with JTV he has enjoyed getting to know the area’s sports scene and showcase local athletes and teams. He has lived in Jackson since 2001 with his wife Paula and can unequivocally state that he has never deflated a football to affect the outcome of a game.

Josh Burgett

Josh Burgett

Josh Burgett is the Executive Director of Community Engagement & Corporate Citizenship at Consumers Energy. Previously, Josh served as the Director of the Michigan Land Bank, part of the Michigan Department of Talent and Economic Development. Josh spent ten years with the Corporate Partnerships team at Michigan International Speedway. Josh is a native of Grass Lake and graduated from Grass Lake High School in 2000. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in sport management at Siena Heights University, was a member of the baseball team and twice earned All-Conference honors. He was awarded the Outstanding Senior Award for the Siena Heights University Sport Management program in 2004. He completed his master’s degree in athletic administration from Eastern Michigan University.

Jim Francis

Jim Francis

Jim is originally from Mt. Clemens Michigan and a graduate of L’Anse Creuse North High School where he was a varsity athlete. Jim ran 1 year at Central Michigan University as a walk on for both cross country and track. Jim doubled Majored in Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts and Interpersonal and Public Communications at CMU. Jim is married to his wife Dawn and they have two sons. Jim has held jobs in many fields, running senior centers, advertising agencies, printing companies, television and radio and currently works for Xcel Staffing in Jackson. Jim is also on the Board of Directors for the Jackson County Rose Festival.

Dan Gallagher

Dan Gallagher

Dan Gallagher has been with JTV Sports as a color commentator/analyst since 2018. Dan was a former MHSAA football official for 19 years. He also currently serves as the Napoleon Township Supervisor. Outside of JTV, you can find Dan on the lake with his pontoon during the summer and rooting for the Detroit Lions.

Andy Hawley

Andy Hawley

Andy Hawley is the co-owner of JTV and a co-host of “The Morning Show”. He also hosts the “Aspen One Hour Football Show” along with frequent appearances on “The Right Approach”. Andy was a multi-sport athlete and graduate from Lumen Christi High School and also holds records for Jackson-area’s “James R. Selby Track & Field Classic”.

David Rice

David Rice

David Rice is one of JTV’s lead sports play-by-play announcers along with being a sports writer and internet radio host. He was a former radio host on multiple stations across the US including Hot97.7 FM in Las Vegas. Rice has been with JTV since December 2018. David is a Jackson-area native and graduated from Grass Lake High School in 2023 along with being a former Sales & Marketing student with the Jackson-Area Career Center. He also is a full-time employee at JTV, being a producer behind the scenes for live shows such as “The Morning Show” and “The Bart Hawley Show”. Outside of JTV, you can probably find David watching a sports game, Family Guy, or something on Netflix along with being a diehard Green Bay Packers fan.

Mason Kaiser

Mason Kaiser

Mason Kaiser is the newest JTV Sports color commentator. He is a former member of the University of Michigan football team. Mason currently works for the Parks & Recreation department for the City of Jackson.
