Track will host a pair of race weekends, June 13-15 and Aug. 15-17

BROOKLYN, Mich. (Oct. 15, 2013) — NASCAR Sprint Cup Series returns to Southeast Michigan for the 46th year, bringing the excitement, pageantry and fun of NASCAR to race fans as Michigan International Speedway will host two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races – the Quicken Loans 400 on June 15 and the Pure Michigan 400 on Aug. 17.

Only 20 states host the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series; of those, only 13 host it two or more times.

“We’re thrilled to showcase Pure Michigan, Quicken Loans, the rest of our great partners and all the wonderful things this state has to offer with two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series events in 2014,” speedway President Roger Curtis said. “We are NASCAR’s fastest track, and we have lots of things in store for race fans and guests.”

The full racing schedule for Michigan International Speedway in 2014 is:

Friday, June 13                  ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards and Sprint Cup Qualifying

Saturday, June 14            NASCAR Nationwide Series
Sunday, June 15               NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quicken Loans 400

Friday, Aug. 15                  NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Practice and Qualifying
Saturday, Aug. 16             NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Michigan National Guard 200
Sunday, Aug. 17                NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Pure Michigan 400

All events will be nationally televised. The Quicken Loans 400 is on TNT; the Pure Michigan 400 is on ESPN.

The track will continue keeping ticket prices low for 2014. Race fans who renew will have the best prices and the best seats. Tickets for a NASCAR Sprint Cup race start at $27, with children 12 and under free in certain sections, ensuring families have a chance to see NASCAR at affordable prices.

The speedway will also continue its junior pricing program where kids 16 and under are half price.

Some exciting tickets packages have also been launched, including ticket offers featuring five-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson and Danica Patrick.

Additionally, the speedway will host the Michigan Wine and Beer Fest presented by Experience Jackson on Saturday, May 10, and Faster Horses music festival, July 18-20. The team at MIS is always looking for new events throughout the year.
