The Polly's Country Market Bantam B Hockey team will be competing in the state championships March 6-8 in Marquette. On today's show team captain Barry Kennedy and assistant captains Brock Fitzpatrick and Connor Girard, team members and coach Chad Kennedy talked about the season and their accomplishments. The team won their district championship earlier this month in Muskegon. The "Fightin' Parrots have a season record of 31-4-0. With record low temperatures and wind chills forecast for tonight and tomorrow, Jackson County Undersheriff Chris Kuhl offered safety tips to viewers, including installing a carbon monoxide detector and making sure your furnace is properly maintained. SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Spring Arbor University men’s basketball program is pleased to announce the signing of senior center Kyle Bartholomew from Holland High School in Holland, MI. Bartholomew becomes the third member of the 2015 SAU recruiting class as he joins guard Tommy Hamilton (Thornapple-Kellogg) and wing Luke Barber (Inner-City Baptist). The six-foot-eleven Bartholomew anchors the Holland Dutch defense that is limiting their opponents to just 48 points per game. Kyle is controlling the paint while pulling down 8 rebounds per contest to go along with 3.9 points and 2 blocks. Currently, the Dutch are 12-3 on the season. “Kyle continues to work hard and improve on the basketball court. He anchors our defense by altering and blocking shots inside. His best days as a player are ahead of him,” commented Holland coach Paul Chapman. Kyle is currently carrying a 3.92 grade point average and plans to pursue a degree in accounting from Spring Arbor University. He is the son of Chuck Bartholomew and Anne Bartholomew. “Kyle has tremendous potential. Northwest High School students Abby Nelson, Justus Faloon and Grant Kennell are among the 1st Hour Economics Class students who have launched an endowment for the Michigan Theatre. The class chose the theatre for their service learning project from among several they studied. Michigan Theatre Executive Director Steve Tucker said this is the first endowment the theatre has ever had. The student's goal, through fundraisers and donations is $10,000.
