NDO, Kibby Road Construction on Packed City Council Agenda

The Jackson City Council will hold its next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 28th at its regular venue:  City Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall.  The meeting has a lengthy agenda, due in part to the cancellation of the March 14th meeting.  The cancellation was the result of Mayor Bill Jors and Councilman Daniel Greer attending meetings in Washington D.C. working toward a brownfield redevelopment grant.  The City Council last met on February 21. City Manager Patrick Burtch had considered moving the meeting to the Michigan Theatre for the third time due to an anticipated large turnout.  On Friday, the city announced the meeting would remain at City Hall and encouraged residents interested in attending to arrive early.   The maximum capacity law will be enforced for safety reasons. Among the items on the agenda:   a public hearing of necessity for street reconstruction on Kibby Road from the City Limits to West Avenue.  The Council will also consider a resolution ordering the construction and preparation of the special assessment roll for the Kibby Road project. The summer 2017 project calls for reducing the four lane boulevard to a two lane street and construction of a…
