Jackson College Announces Dean’s List for Spring 2017 Semester

Jackson College has announced the students named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2017 semester.  Jackson College students are recognized each fall, winter and spring semester for high academic achievement by being named to the Dean’s List. The minimum requirements for being named are: Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits during the semester with a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher. Part-time students, who after completing a total of 12, 24,36, 48, 60, 72, 84 and 96 credit hours, have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher Full-time students are listed first, followed by Part-time students. JC’s Karkheck Receives Career Achievement Award

Each day, Director of Marketing & Communications Dotty Karkheck guides the many methods that Jackson College communicates with its communities. For her commitment, Karkheck was recently recognized by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations as the 2018 Petrizzo Career Service Award Winner. Karkheck began her career at Jackson College in 2002, bringing years of experience in marketing, publishing and graphic design. Karkheck has led the College through many strategic initiatives and explored new trends in marketing, keeping quality at the forefront of all efforts, print communications, website, digital and social media, to media relations. Karkheck has been a member of NCMPR since 2003 and has been very active in helping coordinate district conferences and finding judges for the Medallion and Paragon Award programs. NCMPR colleague Lynn Whalen, executive director of public relations and marketing at Lincoln Land Community College in Illinois, said: “I have been continually impressed through the years with her abilities as a marketer and team leader, as well as her devotion to her community college and NCMPR.” The College recognized her leadership skills in 2012 with the Outstanding Administrator of the Year…
