A weak area of high pressure over Michigan will act to keep the weather very warm for the area. A few storms could develop in the afternoon or evening. This high pressure system will build northeast on Wednesday allowing the remnants of Alberto to track in from the south. Thus a wet period will occur for the region Wednesday into Thursday. Memorial Day Mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 90. Light east southeast wind increasing to 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Tonight A 20 percent chance of showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. East southeast wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Wednesday A slight chance of showers before 9am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 9am and 3pm, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. High near 84. Southeast wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. The flow of very warm air into the region will continue through today. It will become unstable again this afternoon and that could result in a local brief thunderstorm for parts of the area. Another warm day is expected for Tuesday. Showers and thunderstorms will be on the increase for Wednesday as abundant moisture streams in from the Gulf of Mexico. Memorial Day Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, sunny and hot, with a high near 94. Light and variable wind. Tonight Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph. Memorial Day Parade, Downtown Jackson. 10 AM. The procession begins at the corner of Michigan and Jackson and heads south on Jackson Street to Greenwood. Turning onto Woodbridge, then Rockwell, ending at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery for a Memorial Day program of speeches and the laying of the wreaths. Taps and a salute to our fallen soldiers. Memorial Day Service in Spring Arbor. At 12 PM., there is a Memorial Day Service at the Spring Arbor Township front lawn with a parade to follow at 1 PM along M-60 in Spring Arbor. At 11 AM, games, face painting, inflatables, balloons, dunk tank and more (in front of Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church). The Clark Lake Memorial Day Parade will take place at 8:30 AM. The parade assembles at the schoolhouse on North Lake Road. It proceeds south on Hyde Road and turns around at the Township Park and heads north. The parade pauses at the cemetery for prayer and the playing of taps. The parade resumes and concludes in front of the Clarklake Community Church for the playing of the National Anthem.
