(Photo: From Albion College Athletics Website) By, Bobby Lee Seven student-athletes represent Albion College on the all-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association football team announced Tuesday morning. Defensive end Mitchell Arendsen, tight end Brian Blanzy, punter Sam Blanzy and kicker Andrew Fabry were first team picks. They were joined by right guard Chase Bouschor, right tackle Lige McKinney and wide receiver Justin Thomas on the second team. Arendsen, a sophomore from Zeeland, Mich., who prepped at Holland Christian High School, is in the top 20 in NCAA Division III statistics for tackles for loss and sacks. He finished second in the MIAA with 12 ½ tackles for loss, including six sacks, in the seven games against MIAA rivals. The Blanzy twins are seniors who prepped at Grosse Pointe South High School. Brian finished fourth in the MIAA with 516 receiving yards in league play. The highlight was a 93-yard reception in the season finale against Olivet College that tied the school record and was the eighth-longest play by a Division III receiver this season. Now they’ll face off with powerhouse Montrose in the State Semifinal on Saturday. The Titan’s defense recorded its’ third shutout this season, in a five touchdown win over the Blissfield Royals. Thomas was responsible for every score in the 33-0 win. Blissfield finishes its’ season 7-5, after a second district championship in as many seasons. The Royals were not a favorite to win in the first, or second round of the playoffs, and have backed in twice in a row. The Royals must relish the underdog role, because they have certainly lived up to it. The Titans and…
