It ended just days ago, but now fans, athletes and parents are gearing up for what should be a great year of winter sports. Boy’s basketball in the Jackson area starts tonight. They’ll play again on the 30th in Onsted. Napoleon posted a final record of 16-9 last season and they’ve continued their winning ways to start this season. Northwest is getting their year started on the road tonight. They’ll be at Charlotte with a 7pm tip off. They’ll be back in action on the 30th as they play the Panthers of Stockbridge. It ended just days ago, but now fans, athletes and parents are gearing up for what should be a great year of winter sports. Girl’s basketball in the Jackson area starts next week. The Golden Eagles will open their year on December, 4th in Parma. The Panthers of Western will play host for the opener of Columbia’s season. They’ll then be home on the 11th as the Titans of Lumen Christi travel to the outskirts of Brooklyn. Columbia Central finished 10-11 last season. Concord is one of many area MHSAA teams opening their season on December, 4th. Like the Golden Eagles, they’ll open on the road. They’ll be in Hanover-Horton before returning home two days later to host Grass Lake. Concord is poised to improve on last year’s 9-13 final record.
