St. John Catholic School is hosting a New Family Open House, January 31, from 6 to 7 PM.  We invite families to join us for our New Family Open House.  We’ve got something very special here and we’d love to share it with other families.  All families who attend this Open House with have a chance to win a $100 tuition voucher for the 2019-20 school year.  Programs and classes for Preschool 3s through Grade 6.  NOTE:  THIS EVENT IS ON. Nine-game winning streak ends for Vikings

Jackson High School player Tyler Hunt (0) scored 16 points in a 46-44 loss to Chelsea on Tuesday night at home.   By Jeff Steers JTV Sports   On a night where the Jackson High School boys’ basketball raised money for cancer research, they could not find a cure for complacency. Jackson – riding a nine-game winning streak – lost to Chelsea High School 46-44 at home Tuesday night. The Vikings had beaten Chelsea on the road 62-56 earlier in the year. Jackson falls to 10-3 overall, 6-2 in the Southeastern Conference White division. “We have to be ready to play every night,” Coach Dan Crowley said. “In this league you are not going to walk into the gym and win just because you have a better record than the other team. “Everybody in the league is capable of beating us if we don’t come ready to play.” The Vikings have played everyone in the league at least once except for leaders Ypsilanti Lincoln. Jackson will travel to Ypsilanti Lincoln Feb. 12 and will host them Feb. 18 in a make-up game. “We saw how the league went in the fall and knew we were going to be competitive,” Crowley…

All events for today have been cancelled.  Here’s a couple of winter events happening Saturday to look forward to: Albion Winterfest.  Join us for a full day of winter fun in Albion! Together with our friends, we’re putting on a full schedule of events in Albion on Saturday, Feb. 2nd, including the return of the Cardboard Classic Sled Race!  Other events include a Dog Sled Demonstration, Skating Pavillon, Hiking, Hot Drinks, Winter Farmer’s Market, Kids N’ Stuff, Music, Arts and a special screening of Groundhog Day.  You can find more information on Facebook. Groundhog Gallop.  Registration is now open for the 42nd Annual Groundhog Gallop!!  Step by Step is proud to host the 42nd Annual Groundhog Gallop as part of the Orthopaedic Rehab Run/Walk Series.
