Michigan Reports 735 Coronavirus Cases Today, State Total Now 82,356

(August 1, 2020 3:55 PM) Michigan reported 735 coronavirus (COVID-19) positive test cases today, with the state reported total now at 82,356. The State of Michigan is reporting 7* COVID-19-related deaths today, with the state total now at 6,199. *The deaths announced today includes 4 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. See cumulative data page for more information. State Cumulative Total of Recovered COVID-19 Cases (as of 7/31/2020): 60,022.  This information is updated daily at 3 p.m., with COVID-19 results included as of 10 a.m.

Jackson County Cumulative Report: 660 COVID-19 Positive Cases and 32 Deaths

(August 1, 2020 12:18 PM) The Jackson County Health Department released the COVID-19 positive numbers for Jackson County.  As of 12 PM today, there are 660 positive cases (cumulative), and 32 deaths (cumulative)*.     There are 10 new cases since yesterday’s report.  Cumulative recovered, as of July 31, 2020:  471** The Michigan Department of Corrections is reporting as of 8:45 PM Sunday, July 26, there are 1,461 confirmed positive cases at Jackson facilities and 158 confirmed positive staff cases. As of 9 AM July 29, there are 7 persons at Henry Ford Allegiance Health being treated as inpatients for COVID-19. *These numbers do not reflect any cases or deaths identified through Michigan Department of Corrections.  Their numbers are listed under a separate category for MDOC cases here:   Michigan Statistics. Vote Early This Weekend

(August 1, 2020 10:33 AM) Voters are encouraged to vote early this weekend at their local election clerk’s office. All clerk offices must be open at least eight hours this weekend, in accordance with the constitutional amendment passed by voters in 2018. To find their local clerk’s information, voters can visit Michigan.gov/Vote. “By safely voting in person this weekend at their clerk’s office, voters can cast their ballot early and beat the Election Day rush,” said Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. “I highly encourage voters to take advantage of their right to cast their ballot at their clerk’s office before Election Day.” On Election Day, registered voters can only vote at their local polling place. To ensure the safety of all voters and election workers, the Michigan Bureau of Elections has provided masks, gloves, cleaning supplies and protocols for hygiene and social distancing to all jurisdictions. Election workers are required to wear masks, and voters are strongly encouraged to do so. Citizens who are not yet registered can do so at their clerk’s office through 8 p.m. on Election Day.
