Possible Exposure of COVID-19 at Springport Schools
(September 21, 2020 7:09 PM) The Jackson County Health Department has been working with the Springport School district to identify individuals at risk of exposure to COVID-19 at Springport Schools. Out of an abundance of caution for the health of students and employees, Springport Schools have moved to a virtual at home format beginning Monday, September 21, 2020 through at least Friday, October 2, 2020; this decision was made in cooperation with Springport Schools due to confirmed COVID-19 cases occurring among students. The Jackson County Health Department is working with school staff and individuals affected to identify and contact those at highest risk of infection. With evidence of community spread, community mitigation strategies and restrictions are in place to slow the spread of the virus as much as possible. Please take every possible opportunity to practice prevention and social distancing. The Jackson County Health Department has begun case investigation and contact tracing of infected individuals and those who may have been in close contact with individuals when they were contagious.
