Food Truck Tuesday.  11 AM to 1 PM. The Jackson Downtown Development Authority will host Food Truck Tuesdays throughout Summer 2021 at Horace Blackman Park and True Community Credit Union City Square.  On the first and third Tuesdays of June July and August.  Enjoy a variety of food and drink from a dozen food trucks in attendance.  Live entertainment on stage.  Red Cross Blood Drives.   The American Red Cross urges all who are healthy to make this a summer full of life for patients by scheduling an appointment to give blood or platelets. As the nation transitions to a new, hopeful phase of this devastating pandemic and people begin to return to some of their favorite activities, the Red Cross is concerned about the impact this could have on blood donor turnout and the blood supply this summer. The need for lifesaving blood transfusions never takes a break. It’s critical to have blood ready to go when every second counts. Memorial Day Mass.  Memorial Day Mass will be celebrated at 9am on Monday, May 31st at St. John Catholic Cemetery, located at 403 E. South Street in Jackson. Bring lawn chairs for seating and practice social distancing as Mass will be held outside at the cemetery’s altar. In the event of inclement weather, Mass will be moved to St. John the Evangelist Church, located at 711 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Jackson.  Military funeral honors by local veterans will open the service, followed by Mass to honor those who died serving our country and all the faithful departed. Jackson Memorial Day Parade. The Jackson County Veterans Council annual Memorial Day and Ceremony.  10 AM.  Parade begins downtown at Michigan and Jackson, proceeds Down Jackson Street, to Greenwood Avenue and ends at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.  Memorial Day ceremony, including the laying of wreaths following at cemetery. Spring Arbor Memorial Day Parade.
