It is an interesting race. That happened on Friday at the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3 track regional at Hillsdale High School.  In the end, the sprinter took home the wins but the distance runner proved she is a force to be reckoned with.  Grass Lake High School finished third (67) to Quincy (99.5) and Jonesville (70) at Hillsdale High School in the Division 3 regional. Hanover-Horton finished eighth (47), Lumen Christi was ninth (44), Napoleon placed 10th (31), Columbia Central finished 13th (16), and Michigan Center was 14th (15). Jackson County Hosting Public Meeting Regarding Cascades Water Flow Issues

(May 22, 2021 8:47 AM) Jackson County has announced a public meeting has been scheduled to gather input from residents concerning water levels and water flows at Sparks Foundation County Park, home of The Cascades. Jackson County is in the process of conducting a water influence study to evaluate the hydrology and hydraulics of the Sparks Foundation County Park watershed. This comprehensive study will help quantify water levels and flows both above and below the ground surface. The watershed has been mapped in an effort to understand how precipitation flows into the lagoons, and an array of monitoring wells have been installed to record ground water levels. The goal of the study is to evaluate hydrologic flows, trends, and interactions between surface and ground water systems, and to evaluate how they influence the water levels of the ponds and lagoons throughout the park.  Throughout the duration of the study, the County has been working with officials from the Michigan Department of Environment Great Lakes and Energy. County officials are hosting a public meeting on Tuesday, May 25, 2021, from 5-6 pm at the Urban Fishery “My Five” Shelter, to discuss the study and resident concerns.  A webinar is also being…
