Boys Soccer Clinton 6, Columbia Central 1: The Red Wolves defeated Columbia Central in Lenawee County Athletic Association action on Monday. Michigan Center 1, Hillsdale Academy 1: The Cardinals tied Hillsdale Academy in a match on Monday. Carter Kosmet scored in the first half for the Cardinals. Girls Golf Interstate-8 finals: Lumen Christi Catholic High School won the Interstate-8 Conference finals at Marshall on Monday with a four-man total of 351 to win the conference title. Western placed second overall at the meet and in the final standings with a 365. Ashley Hilderley of Lumen Christi finished second at the conference meet with an 80 and Sydnie Redovich of Western was third with an 83. Redovich won the conference medalist honors for the year based on scoring average. Caroline Hilderley shot and 88 for Lumen Christi and Brune Savage of Western shot a 90. Cascades Meet at Sharp Park: Michigan Center High School won all of the jamborees and the Cascades Conference meet at Sharp Park Golf Course on Monday. The Cardinals shot a four-man total of 395. MDHHS Issues Guidelines for Pfizer Booster Shot
(September 27, 2021 6:00 PM) Following FDA approval, recommendations from the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and additional recommendations by the CDC director, the Michigan Department of Health and Humans Services (MDHHS) is urging certain Michiganders to get a booster shot if they received Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine. This includes people ages 65 and older; individuals 18 through 64 years of age at high risk of severe COVID-19 due to underlying health conditions; and those at high risk of COVID-19 due to occupational or institutional exposure. "The safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine is already protecting millions of Michiganders from this deadly virus,” said Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, chief medical executive and chief deputy for health at MDHHS. “With the Delta variant circulating and cases of COVID-19 increasing, CDC and the FDA have determined that a booster dose is needed for some individuals to maintain and increase that level of protection. We urge all eligible Michiganders to get their booster dose six months after their second dose to help protect against COVID-19.” CDC recommends the following groups should receive a booster shot of Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine at least six months after their Pfizer-BioNTech primary series: People 65 years and older and residents aged…
