I-94 Design-Build Project Update for Oct. 6, 2021

(October 6, 2021 8:38 AM) The I-94 Design-Build Project contractor achieved a major milestone on Oct. 1 when eastbound I-94 traffic was shifted onto the newly built westbound I-94 roadway from Lansing Avenue to Airport Road. This in turn allowed the demolition of the eastbound I-94 bridge over US-127/West Avenue and the beginning of pavement removal from the eastbound roadway.            Over the next few months, the contractor will complete building the bridge carrying Lansing Avenue over I-94. The building of the new bridge carrying eastbound I-94 over US-127/West Ave and the new Elm Road bridge over I-94 will continue as well. The contractor will continue to work on building the eastbound lanes of I-94 as well as the west half of the new diverging diamond interchange at I-94 and US-127/West Avenue. It is anticipated that I-94 traffic will be maintained in its current configuration through the winter months.  Ramp and local road impacts that remain active: The northbound US-127/West Avenue ramp to westbound I-94 is closed. The southbound US-127/West Avenue ramp to eastbound I-94 is maintained via a temporary ramp using a temporary traffic signal. One lane of northbound US-127/West Avenue is closed from Sparks Street to Springport Road…

The state has also administered more than 207,000 third doses to those who are immunocompromised and booster doses to eligible individuals. Henry Ford Health System Says 99% of Workforce Vaccine Compliant

(October 5, 2021 6:16 PM) Henry Ford Health System reported Tuesday that 99 percent of its workforce is compliant with its COVID-19 vaccination requirement. The figure means team members are either fully vaccinated, on the way to completing a two-dose regimen or received an approved medical or religious exemption. “This is a true testament to Team HFHS and how much our team cares about your health, the community’s health, their own health and the health of their teammates,” said Bob Riney, President of Healthcare Operations and Chief Operating Officer, during a briefing with reporters. “We’re really grateful for their dedication.” On June 29, Henry Ford became the first health system in Michigan to announce a vaccine requirement for its workforce. At the time of the announcement, the workforce vaccination rate was 68%. The requirement took effect Sept. 10. Key compliance numbers released Thursday: More than 30,000 team members are fully vaccinated About 1,900 team members, or 6 percent of the workforce, received an approved medical or religious exemption. The number of exemptions is expected to wane should the COVID-19 vaccine become part of regular vaccination maintenance, like the flu vaccine About 400 team members, or about 1 percent of the workforce,…
