Jackson County Cumulative Report: 27,656 COVID-19 Positive Cases and 396 Deaths

(December 14, 2021 12:00 PM) The Jackson County Health Department released the COVID-19 positive numbers for Jackson County. As of 12:00 PM today, there are 27,656 positive cases (cumulative), and 396 deaths (cumulative)*. There are 57 new cases and 1 new death since yesterday’s report. As of December 13, there are 85 persons at Henry Ford Allegiance Health being treated as inpatients for COVID-19. The Jackson County Health Department has announced a change in reporting effective Oct. 6, 2021. Cases defined as probable will be reported in cumulative case and death counts. As additional methods of testing besides the PCR test have become more common, the amount of cases classified as probable has increased and are included to provide a more accurate picture of disease in our community. Cumulative recovered, as of December 14: 23,140** The cumulative numbers posted on Mondays include the data from Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Girls basketball Concord 51, Napoleon 49: The two teams combined to score 36 points in the fourth quarter, but Concord came out victorious. Concord guard Jamiya Rogers had four quick points at the two-minute mark of the final quarter to give the Yellow Jackets a seven-point lead. But the Pirates battled back, but could not pull out its first win of the season. Karlee Gamet had a huge game for CHS with 18 points and seven rebounds. Hadley Kettwich scored 11 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and Maria Stevens finished with 11 rebounds for Concord. Napoleon was led by Karson Fairbanks with 13 points and seven rebounds. Emme Van Poppel finished with six points and 11 rebounds and Momo Hampton scored nine points and dished three assists for Napoleon (0-3). Concord is 2-2 on the season with the win. East Jackson 67, Homer 37: Mariah Kerley finished with 17 points and Cortney Overholt scored 11 points for East Jackson in the win. Cascades Humane Society Vaccine, Microchip & Testing Clinic. 10 AM to 1 PM. Join us for a low-cost vaccine clinic! CHS is holding a low-cost vaccine clinic on Tuesday, December 14th from 10am to 1pm. Appointments are every 15 minutes. Please make one appointment per pet you are bringing. Appointments require a $20 deposit and that will go toward the service you receive at the time of your appointment. We are also welcoming walk-in's as well, and will be fit in around the appointments. Upon arrival, one of our volunteers will check you in. ARTitude is an annual pop-up holiday marketplace now open at the Masonic Temple, 145 W. Cortland in Downtown Jackson.
