Jackson County Cumulative Report: 38,553 COVID-19 Positive Cases and 505 Deaths

(February 10, 2022 1:17 PM)  The Jackson County Health Department released the COVID-19 positive numbers for Jackson County.  As of 12:00 PM today, there are 38,553 positive cases (cumulative), and 505 deaths (cumulative)*.   There are no new cases* and 3 new deaths since yesterday’s report.  *There are 25 fewer total cases in today’s report as Health Department epidemiologists reassigned some cases as prison cases. The Jackson County Health Department has announced a change in reporting effective Oct. 6, 2021.  Cases defined as probable will be reported in cumulative case and death counts.  As additional methods of testing besides the PCR test have become more common, the amount of cases classified as probable has increased and are included to provide a more accurate picture of disease in our community.  Cumulative recovered, as of February 8:  31,438** The cumulative numbers posted on Mondays include the data from Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Recovered numbers are being posted as received.  *These numbers do not reflect any cases or deaths identified through Michigan Department of Corrections.  Their numbers are listed under a separate category and reported by the state at Michigan Statistics. Extreme Dodge Jackson County Scoreboard for Feb. 9, 2022

Boys basketball Hanover-Horton 81, East Jackson 45: The Comets (5-7) have averaged 65 points in their last four games. East Jackson is 2-11 on the season.  Michigan Center 62, Grass Lake 57: Three players scored in double figures for Michigan Center in the home win. Brody Shannon scored 18 points, Daylen Hinkle scored 15 points, and Carter Kosmet added 13 points and eight rebounds for Michigan Center (9-4 overall, 7-2 conference). Grass Lake was led by Kahner Tripp with 16 points, Gus Vitale scored 14 points, and Brayden Lape scored 10 points. Grass Lake is 4-10 overall, 4-5 in Cascades Conference.  Climax-Scotts 60, Jackson Christian 28: The Royals are 4-10 following the loss.    Napoleon 63, Addison 42: Zach Johnson scored 19 points, Javen Tumey-Patterson scored 12 points, and Grant Bradley finished with 12 points and six rebounds for Napoleon (12-1).  Vandercook Lake 77, Manchester 49: The Jayhawks are 12-1 on the season with the home win. Jermaine Buckner scored 26 points and dished seven assists to lead the Jayhawks.
