TRUE Community Credit Union Announces 2023 Scholarship Award Winners

(April 28, 2023 8:58 AM ET) TRUE Community Credit Union has announced the recipients of five scholarships. The scholarships are awarded each year as part of TRUE Community Credit Union’s education program. This year, five students were each awarded a $1,000 scholarship, paid to the college, university, or technical school they are attending in the fall. The winners are: Alivia Smith from Jackson will be attending Jackson College to study Business. Philip Coughlin from Brooklyn will be attending Northern Michigan University to study Cybersecurity. Mit Foley from Saginaw will be attending Michigan State University to study Human Biology. Keegan Schoendorf from Michigan Center will be attending Michigan State University to study Nursing. Karson Schroeder from Jackson will be attending Spring Arbor University to study Broadcasting. Both traditional students graduating in 2023 and non-traditional students over the age of 25 with a high school diploma or GED seeking a degree or return to complete a degree were eligible for the scholarship. TRUE Community Credit Union embraces the chance to work with youth around the state and is dedicated to promoting the Partnership in Education program.

Baseball Quincy 5, Concord 4: Quincy High School scored a run in the eighth inning to pull out the win. Levi Raymond had a hit and two RBIs for Concord.  Quincy 5, Concord 0: Carter Arbuckle had two of the Yellow Jackets’ five hits in the game.  Olivet 11, Michigan Center 0: The Cardinals could only muster two hits in the non-conference contest.  Western 13, Pennfield 1: Troy Gilpin started the game for Western and pitched five innings.  Western 3, Pennfield 0: Nick Allen pitched seven scoreless inning for Western. Drew Braun finished with a pair of hits for the Panthers.  Softball Quincy 12, Concord 5: Madisyn Barrett of Concord High School had three hits and three RBIs against Quincy.  Quincy 12, Concord 7: Zoe Schultz and Riley Adams each finished with three hits for the Yellow Jackets.  Hanover-Horton 11, Clinton 6: Amierah Jarrett finished with three hits and Alexyn Dubois struck out 11 batters on the mound for Hanover-Horton.  Clinton 10, Hanover-Horton 2: The Comets were limited to three hits in the contest.  Lumen Christi 14, Charlotte 2: The Titans finished with 16 hits in the contest as Allison O’Dowd finished with four hits and four RBIs. Baseball Columbia Central 4, Hudson 2: Nick Wilding knocked in two runs at the plate and earned the pitching win for CCHS going all seven innings. Ryan Ladd also finished with two hits for the Golden Eagles.  Hudson 6, Columbia Central 3: The Tigers scored four times in the seventh inning to pull out the victory. Ryan Hammond finished with two hits and Nick Wilding knocked in two more runs for CCHS.  East Jackson 8, Hanover-Horton 6: East Jackson scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the win. Bryce Fowler finished with two hits and knocked in three runs and Landon Roberts tallied two hits for East Jackson. Channing Hull finished with three hits and Luke Soper added a pair of hits and an RBI for the Comets.  Hanover-Horton 13, East Jackson 0: Lukas Nadell knocked in three runs and Braylon Sayles finished with two hits for the Comets.
