Zeller Wins Jackson County Senior Golf Open

By Jeff Steers JTV Sports (July 9, 2023 4:38 PM ET) Local golfer Greg Zeller may be getting better with age. The Jackson Hall of Fame golfer may become a fine wine on the links. Zeller shot a 1-under-par 71 to win the Jackson County Senior Open at Cascades Golf Course Sunday. He finished with a two-round total of 140 – 4 under par – for the tournament edging Steve Maddalena by one shot.  Maddalena shot rounds of 70 and 71 to finish second. Mike Brockie was third (146), Mike Raymond was fourth (147), John Tarpley placed fifth (152), and Pete Walz was sixth (153).  The 4-under score could win the Jackson County Open next weekend with all of the young bucks at Cascades.  In the first flight, Nathan Lazebnik won with a score of 152 and Rick Frinkle and Jim Clark tied for second with 155s. The flight included golfers between the ages of 60 – 69.  The ageless Roger Kuhl easily won the second flight with an even-par score of 144 – 71 and 73. Ron Potok was second (156) and Dave Calderone and Wayne Harbaugh finished tied for third (158) in the over-70 bracket.  Championship Flight Greg…
