Grand River Brewery Adult Pizza Making Class.  5 PM.  Take your friends and family on a tasty trip with your new pizza-making skills! Grand River Brewery Jackson is hosting an adult pizza-making class, where you can learn to make delicious wood-fired pizzas. For $25 per person, you get to make your own pizza with live instruction from a seasoned chef, all while enjoying your favorite GRB beverage! We are also offering a $20 ticket for those ages 13-20 with a non-alcoholic drink of their choice. Take full advantage of the fresh ingredients and wood-fired stove at GRB to inspire some delicious cooking action. The class fee covers the pizza as well as the drink. Governor Whitmer Appoints Bloodworth to the Commission on Community Action and Economic Opportunity Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced Carolyn Bloodworth has been appointed to the Commission on Community Action and Economic Opportunity. Carolyn Bloodworth, of Jackson, is the Executive Director of Corporate Giving at Consumers Energy/CMS Energy. She serves on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity of Michigan and is a member of the Michigan Nonprofit Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management of Human Resources from Spring Arbor University. Ms. Bloodworth is appointed to represent the private sector, for a term commencing June 30, 2023, and expiring June 21, 2026.  The Commission on Community Action and Economic Opportunity was created to provide opportunity for low-income persons to actively participate in the development of policies and programs to reduce poverty and serves as a statewide forum to address the needs and concerns of low-income people in the state of Michigan.  American 1 Credit Union Awarded Corporate Partner of the Year by Junior Achievement of the Michigan Edge  Junior Achievement of the Michigan Edge recognized American 1 Credit Union as their Corporate Partner of the Year on June 1 at the Celebration of Achievement Dinner at the Ella…

Events of July 3 and 4, 2023

Monday, July 3 Fireworks at the Cascades.  Celebrate Independence Day at the Cascades.   The event includes food trucks and live music from the Sam Luna Band. The Falls open at 6 p.m. and the fireworks start at dusk.  Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for children 4 to 12 years old and free to children 3 years old and younger. Albion Fireworks.  The Greater Albion Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau invites you to the 2023 Albion Fireworks as part of the Annual Fourth of July Celebration on Monday, July 3, 2023. This year's fireworks by Night Magic Displays will take place at Barnes Park (400 Water Street) in Albion, Michigan at dusk. Gus Macker Jackson Registration Deadline is July 3

(July 2, 2023 9:45 AM ET) The 2023 Gus Macker Jackson Festival announced that there are still team openings as the registration deadline of July 3 is hours away.  The Gus Macker Jackson Festival returns to the streets of Downtown Jackson July 22-23, featuring a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and new signature events. To sign up your team, Register Here.  The fee is $180 per team of 4 in these age divisions:  10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U, and adult various.  The format is double-elimination with 3 games guaranteed. In past years, registration deadlines have been extended, but organizers suggest signing up as soon as possible as some age divisions fill to capacity. Jackson College Announces Dean’s List for Spring 2023

(July 1, 2023 8:00 AM) Jackson College students are recognized each fall, winter, and spring semester for high academic achievement by being named to the Dean’s List. The minimum requirements for being named are: Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits during the semester with a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher. Part-time students, who after completing a total of 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 84, and 96 credit hours, have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher Congratulations to Jackson College’s Dean’s List honorees for the Spring  2023 semester.  Students recognized for the spring semester include (full-time students, followed by part-time students):
