(September 7, 2023 11:47 AM ET) People for the Parks and Trails (PPT), a resident-led group that supports public parks and trails, has donated three sets of bike racks to the City of Jackson to increase bicycle connectivity. The racks have been installed at Loomis Park, Ella Sharp Park and the Ella Sharp Park Mini-Golf Course. Last year, PPT approached the City of Jackson after noticing there were no bike racks at Jackson’s most popular parks. The group decided to make providing bike racks to these locations a priority for 2023, using money raised from donations and fundraisers to pay for the racks and installation. Racks at Loomis Park and the Ella Sharp Park playground have the Jackson crossroads logo and match other racks installed in Downtown Jackson and across the city. The bike rack installed at the Ella Sharp Park Mini-Golf Course was donated by First Congregational Church of Jackson to PPT for use in parks.
