Michigan Department of Corrections On-Site Visit at Jackson College.  An MDOC representative will visit Potter Center on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to discuss opportunities in corrections.  All are welcome.  Explore Career and Internship Opportunities! Watterson Using Last Soccer Season as Motivation

By Jeff Steers JTV Sports (September 24, 2023 7:33 AM ET) Two things have always been a constant in the soccer career of Roarke Watterson. He is nearly always the smallest guy on the field, but his quick feet and relentless pursuit of goals will always be there. The 5-foot 3-inch Western High School sophomore is leading the Panthers to another successful season after going 18-1 last season. Watterson has 10 goals and seven assists as the Panthers have stepped up their competition in 2023. Last year the Panthers started the season with 18 wins and advanced to the district final before losing to Richland Gull Lake, 1-0. Gull Lake went on to win a Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 state title in boys soccer. “The way last year ended made us mad … this is our revenge tour,” Watterson said. “We knew where we could have been (at the end of the playoffs).” Watterson has been playing soccer since he could walk at the urging of his two older brothers – Sawyer and Wittaker.  “For a number of years, I played up on my brother’s team … I was always five or six inches and 50 pounds…

Extreme Dodge Jackson County Scoreboard September 23, 2023

Football Concord 48,  Suttons Bay 0: The Yellow Jackets finally put it together defensively with a shutout at Mt. Pleasant High School Saturday night. Gavin Riske connected on four touchdown passes and Collin Thompson ran for two scores for Concord. Mekhi Wingfield caught touchdown passes of 30, 12, and 27 yards and Jordan Medellin caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Riske. He finished with 207 passing yards on 20-for-29 passing and ran for another 84 yards. Wingfield finished with nine receptions for 126 yards. T.J. Allen finished with 10 tackles for Concord (3-2). The Yellow Jackets will travel to Gobles for a 7 p.m. kickoff next Friday. Concord finishes the season with three home contest. The Suttons Bay game was played at a neutral site as each teams were approximately 120 miles from Mt. Pleasant.  Football Game Changes Addison High School will host Homer next Thursday for a 7 p.m. kickoff. It is the Panthers’ homecoming game. The contest was originally scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m.  Columbia Central will move its home game against Jonesville from Friday to Saturday at 7 p.m.  Both contests were changed due to the lack of referees.  Volleyball Concord at Morenci Invitational: Concord went…
