Meet with Michigan Department of Corrections to discuss career or internship opportunities! All are welcome. High Tech Making Camp. Jackson College will collaborate with Shop Rats organization to offer a five-day camp sponsored through the Nuts Bolts and Thingamajigs Association. The camp will cover a curriculum that encourages students to investigate entrepreneurship and what is involved in the process of creating and running a business. Campers will fabricate various projects using high-tech equipment and machines. DATES: July 29 – Aug. 2, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. COST: $60 (scholarships available for those in need) AGES: 11 – 15-year-olds LOCATION: STEAM Factory; Justin Whiting Hall (JW) Machining Lab Room 171; Welding Fabrication Lab) Room 174 , Jackson College Central Campus. Zeller Wins by Two Strokes at Fiero Senior Championship

By Jeff Steers JTV Sports (July 28, 2024 3:02 PM ET) The summer of winning tournaments continues for local golfer Greg Zeller. Zeller shot a 69 on Sunday at Sharp Park Golf Course to win the Joe Fiero Senior Championship. He won the tournament by two shots over Tom Butterfield (138), Steve Maddalena (139), Todd Marston (141), and Mike Raymond (142). Zeller was steady on the day with three birdies and one bogey in his Sunday round. Butterfield tallied six birdies on the day, but a pair of double bogeys spelled doom in his effort to win another major championship. Marston finished with the low round of the day with a 4-under-par 67 and Maddalena shot 68 on Sunday. Nate LaZebnik won the 60-plus championship with a two day total of 144. Jerry Fitzpatrick was second (147) and Mark DeNato finished third (152). Kids Can Kick up Their Skills at Youth Soccer Camp
(July 28, 2024 2:12 PM ET) Youth soccer players ages 5 to 14 are invited to have some fun and learn new skills at a Soccer Camp held August 15 & 16 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Jackson College. Each camper will receive a T-shirt and participate in a fun learning environment working directly with college coaches and players. Additionally, all campers are invited to attend the women’s soccer team’s "friendly" match on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. and participate in a pre-game “walk out” ceremony with the players on the field. Boys and girls will be divided into three age groups: 5-7 years old, 8-11 years old and 10-14 years old. *Parents may request an alternate age group for their child based upon the parents' knowledge of the child's ability level and desired level of competition for the camp. Additionally, camp staff may decide to place a child up or down one age group if there is a major disparity to allow for a better experience, but this will be discussed with the parents before it is communicated with the child.
