Halloween 2015 is being celebrated on Friday and Saturday in the Jackson area with several community events.  Jackson College hosts its second annual “Spooktacular” Friday from 5:30 to 7pm at Potter Center.  In addition to candy, children (age 12 and under) will be treated to a special Halloween movie and other surprises.

Spring Arbor University will host  “Halloween in the Science Lab” 6:30 p.m. Friday on the campus.  SAU will also host its night of fright from 9 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Beebe on the campus of Spring Arbor University.

On Saturday, The Jackson YMCA along with Partnership Park, hosts a Trunk or Treat event in the Y parking lot.  Hours are 6 to 8pm.  Hot dogs and cocoa will be served.

Westwinds Church, at Robinson and McCain, will host indoor trick or treating from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Jackson Free Methodist Church in Vandercook Lake will host its Trunk or Treat from 6 to 8 p.m. on Halloween.

The Jackson District Library will be celebrating Halloween at several branches.  Details at www.myjdl.org.

All events are free and open to the public.

Jackson and surrounding communities have set Trick or Treat hours for Saturday.  Most, including Jackson are 6 to 8pm.  Jackson County Undersheriff Chris Kuhl reminds motorists to proceed with caution when driving during the holiday.  He also suggests parents dress their children warmly and in costumes with visibility.
