Girls basketball

Columbia Central 46, Hillsdale 20: Anna McCollum scored 15 points and Zoie Bamm added 10 points for CCHS. 

Jonesville 70, Concord 45: Cece Barrett scored 24 points and Hannah Stimer added 10 points for the Yellow Jackets.

Grass Lake 46, Hanover-Horton 39: Kate Starkey was nearly the entire show for the Warriors with 33 points. Molly Soper scored 12 points and Morgan Kuhl finished with eight points and eight rebounds for the Comets. Grass Lake avenges a loss to the Comets earlier in the season and they remain tied for first place in the Cascades Conference.  

Jackson Christian 45, North-Adams Jerome 26: Maggie Hollowood scored 26 points and Kayley McCollum finished with 12 points for the Royals.  

Manchester 47, Michigan Center 36: Julia Reynolds scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Aaralyn Tripp added seven points and eight rebounds for Michigan Center. 

Springport 63, Quincy 18: The Spartans jumped out to a 24-5 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Maddux Overweg scored 16 points and dished seven assists, Brenna Crittenden added 12 points and five steals, and Hope Overweg finished with a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for Springport (15-2 overall, 10-1 Big Eight).

Boys bowling

East Jackson 29, Addison 1: Gauge Parshall bowled a 384 series to lead the Trojans including a 245 game. 

Western 17, Hastings 13: Buster Marr finished with a 409 series and Tobyn LePeak rolled a 216 game for the Panthers.  

Girls bowling

Addison 28, East Jackson 2: Katie Deault bowled a 151 game and Savannah Currey finished with a 150 game for the Trojans. Ashtin Staudinger finished with a 363 series for Addison.  

Hastings 30, Western 0: Ashlynn Kurtz rolled a 137 game to lead Western in the Interstate-8 Conference match. 

Gymnastics

Western 128.6, Tecumseh 124.475: Lilly Heydenburg was first on the bars (8.25), first on the floor (8.975), and first in the all-around (33.25) for Western. Taylor Panquin finished second in the all-around (31.95) and Sophie Robinson was third (31.85). 

Local Sports News

Jackson High School running back Tavion Tanner signed to play football at Siena Heights University on Thursday. He plans to compete for a running back position at SHU and will study pre-medicine.
