Boys Golf
East Jackson Invitational: Northwest High School won the East Jackson Invitational at Sharp Park Golf Course on a cold and rainy day. The Mounties shot a 323, Hanover-Horton finished second with 326, Western was third scoring 332, Jackson scored 343, Napoleon placed seven with 369, Grass Lake was 11th with 390, Columbia Central shot 391, and East Jackson placed 15th at 444. Hanover-Horton, Northwest, and Western dominated the top 10 individually with seven of the spots. Brady Applegate and Cody Rowe tied for medalist honors with 77, Hayden Kim of Western tied for fifth with Jake Brafford of Northwest and Hoyt Wrona of Hanover-Horton with 79s, Eric Bonser of Western tied for eighth scoring 80, and Ryder Pickering of Hanover-Horton was 10th scoring 82.
Lumen Christi at Mason Invitational: Lumen Christi won the Mason Invitational at Forest Akers West with a four-man total of 321 to defeat Holt by four strokes. LCCHS teammates Brendan Stevens and Charlie Saunders tied for fourth with 77s.
Girls track and field
Concord Union City: Concord finished eighth with 18 points in Union City. Cieara Barrett finished second in the 1,600-meter relay in 5:58.
Grass Lake, Springport at Webberville: Grass Lake finished fifth with 50 points and Springport was eighth with 29.5. Grass Lake won the 400-meter relay in 52.5 seconds and Mya Viegelahn won the high jump at 5-0
Jackson at Livonia Franklin: Keiyera Johnson won the 100-meter hurdles (16.92), the 300-meter hurdles (50.27), and the long jump (16-0.75) for Jackson. Everette Drummond also won the 400-meter run for the Vikings (1:04).
Napoleon at Sand Creek: The Pirates won the invitational with 116 points. Alyssa Budd won the 100-meter dash (13.09) and the long jump (16-8.5) for the Pirates’ only individual win.
Western at Mason Invitational: The Panthers finished third in the invitational with 55 points. Kayda Herrick won the high jump for Western with a leap of 5-2.
Boys track and field
Concord at Union City: The Yellow Jackets finished sixth as a team with 43 points in the meet at Union City. Concord won the 400-meter relay (44.69) and the 800-meter relay (1:33).
Grass Lake, Springport at Webberville: Grass Lake High School finished tied for second with 85 points and Springport was sixth 45.5 points. Elijah Dyer of Springport won the 110-meter high hurdles in 16.92 seconds and the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.59 seconds. Braelon Carr won the discus for Grass Lake with a toss of 114-11.
Jackson at Livonia Franklin: Ahmad Ameen of Jackson won the 400-meter dash in 52.32 seconds.
Napoleon, Vandercook Lake at Sand Creek: Napoleon High School won the event with 146 and Vandercook Lake was 11th scoring two points. Haden McLain won the 200-meter dash (23.43) and the 400-meter dash (53.50), Holden Van Poppel took first in the 110-meter hurdles (15.26) and the 300-meter hurdles (43.45), the Pirates won the 800-meter relay (1:35) and the 1,600-meter relay (3:46), and Van Poppel won the long jump (19-7) for Napoleon.
Western at Mason: Western High School finished third in the invitational with 71.5 points. Ronald London won the shot put for Western (46-4) and Lucas Inosencio won the pole vault (13-0). The invitational did not list times or places in the 3,200-meter run.
Girls soccer
Lumen Christi 5, Pennfield 2: Paityn Petito and Codi Ruge both scored a pair of goals for the Titans in the home win.
Western 1, Northwest 0: Amelia Walicki scored the only goal of the game midway through the second half for Western.
