Just yesterday, Friday May 26th, nearly 70 students graduated from Lumen Christi Catholic High School. Today, 7 of the LC baseball seniors were celebrated along with picking up both games of the doubleheader over Quincy, 3-2 and 9-1.

Brodie Gregory started the first game with a 1-out single in the first inning. An RBI double by Jackson Kremer gave Lumen the first run of the game.

The Titans stole two bases including home to make it 2-0 in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Quincy responded with 3 hits in the top of the 3rd, including an RBI that made it a one-run game.

The next few innings were scoreless, both teams hit singles but no scoring.

Quincy tied Lumen in the top of the 6th inning on an RBI double, 2-2 score. Landon Roberts struck out 5 batters in this first game, including 113 pitches thrown. But sophomore Kash Kalahar was the hero down the stretch for LC. Kalahar came in and threw a strikeout in the top of the 7th to leave 3 Quincy runners stranded.

Lumen Christi pulled out a 3-2 win by stealing home as Quincy threw a routine ground ball to first base. LC improved to 24-5 after the first game.

“We’ve had a great season, wouldn’t be able to have accomplished winning the conference outright for the first time without our 7 seniors” said HC Phil Clifford. “Kash came in and stepped up for us on the mound when we were struggling batting, tough win today”.

Lumen Christi ran away with the second game by the 2nd inning, scoring 4 runs in the 2nd, including a 3-RBI triple and a pitching error to make it 5-0. Gannon Shore added a 2-RBI single in the 3rd to make it 7-0.

The Titans won the second game 9-1 with 11 hits at the plate and 9 total strikeouts thrown. LC improves to 25-5 on the season.
