Music, comedy, magic, dance and more are coming to the Potter Center at Jackson College this 2018-19 season.  Jackson College released the upcoming entertainment season lineup today.  Individual tickets go on sale Friday, June 29. Blue Oyster Cult with Mark Farner’s American Band, 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018

Join in an incredible night of rock with Blue Öyster Cult and Mark Farner’s American Band. Pioneering the heavy metal style, genre-benders Blue Öyster Cult offer a taste of the wild side. Blue Öyster Cult is best known for their smash singles “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Burnin’ for You” and “Godzilla.” Legendary all-American front man and guitarist Mark Farner was the engine that pulled the original Grand Funk Railroad to the top, and today he’s a platinum recording artist 30 times over. The Magic of Bill Blagg LIVE!, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2018

Roots and Boots Tour with Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye & Sammy Kershaw, 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018

Sammy Kershaw, Aaron Tippin and Collin Raye join forces for an evening filled with stories and country songs as they get back to their roots. Sammy, Aaron and Collin have amassed almost 70 combined Top 40 hits. Sammy’s hits include “Queen of My Double Wide Trailer,” “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful,” and “Third Rate Romance.” Aaron’s songs include “You’ve Got to Stand for Something,” “There Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong With the Radio,” and “Kiss This.” Collin is known for “Love Me,” “In This Life,” and “That’s My Story.” Tickets $45, $40 and $25.

A Night with Janis Joplin, 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018

Like a comet that burns too brightly to last, Janis Joplin exploded onto the music scene in 1967 and, almost overnight, became the queen of rock and roll. The unmistakable voice made her a must-see headliner from Monterey to Woodstock. Her unforgettable songs include “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Piece of My Heart,” “Mercedes Benz,” “Cry Baby” and “Summertime.” Now, share an evening with the woman and her musical influences in this hit musical “A Night with Janis Joplin.” Tickets $38, $35 and $25.

Wizards of Winter, 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2018

A holiday rock event for the whole family featuring former members of The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The Wizards of Winter bring their musical intensity, stage theatrics and holiday fun to the Potter Center. This 12-member ensemble boasts soaring vocal harmonies, precision string instrumentation, powerful percussion and stunning keyboard work, layered around a rich storyboard that evokes December’s past. CeCe Winans, 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019

Girls Night: The Musical, 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019

Follow five friends as they re-live their past, celebrate their present and look to the future on a wild and hilarious karaoke night out … and you’ll recognize every one of them! Carol who was born to party, blunt Anita who says it like it is, Liza and her “issues,” boring Kate the great designated driver and Sharon, the not-so-angelic angel who just couldn’t resist tagging along!  “Girls Night: The Musical” promises to have audiences laughing, crying and dancing in the aisles! Late Nite Catechism 3: ‘Til Death Do Us Part, 7 p.m. Feb. 23, 2019            

After teaching countless students about the saints, venial sins, limbo and more, Sister is now offering up hilarious lessons on the Sacraments of Marriage and the Last Rites, including her own wacky version of the Newlywed Game. Classroom participation is a must, so bring along your sweetie and your sense of humor for a session with the country’s feistiest couples counselor! “’Til Death Do Us Part” is the latest class to be unveiled in this sinfully funny series. Jim Brickman and Melissa Manchester , 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019

Jim Brickman’s career has spanned over 20 years, and he has transformed the popularity of solo piano playing his original, pop-style instrumentals. Joining him in concert is pop music star Melissa Manchester. Best known for her hits “Midnight Blue,” “Don’t Cry Out Loud,” and “You Should Hear How She Talks About You,” Grammy winner Manchester also received two Academy Award nominations for her theme songs to the films “Ice Castles” and “The Promise.” Music lovers will enjoy this evening with two of the biggest names in adult contemporary music. Jimmy Osmond’s Moon River and Me, 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019

Jimmy Osmond and the Moon River Band celebrate the legacy of his mentor and friend, Andy Williams. Jimmy began performing with Andy at the age of 3, and this show is a tribute to the gentleman who gave him his first foray into the entertainment industry. “Moon River and Me” is a sparkling tribute that features award-winning music and special memories accompanied by nostalgic footage. The Underwater Bubble Show, 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2019

Be transported to a colorful, happy place called Bubblelandia, a place to dream, to listen, to watch, to savor, and to marvel. Chelsea Ballet’s “The Five Dancing Princesses,” 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019

“The Five Dancing Princesses” is an original full-length ballet and Ballet Chelsea’s Artistic Director Wendi DuBois’ light-hearted interpretation of the Grimm Brothers’ tale, “The Twelve Dancing Princesses.” Set to music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Wendi’s choreography tells the story in an unforgettable manner. Founded in 1995, Ballet Chelsea builds strong individuals through high caliber training and performance excellence while giving back to the audience that supports them through arts education and community outreach.
