Boys Soccer

Columbia Central 4, Manchester 1: The Golden Eagles garnered at least a share of the Cascades Conference title with the home win Monday. A fired up group of Golden Eagles scored 12 seconds into the contest on a goal by Auden Kennedy. Derek Sanders scored with 49 seconds remaining in the half for CCHS taking a 2-0 lead into halftime. Both scored for CCHS in the second half giving the Golden Eagles its first conference title since 2018. Goalie Allan Smith earned the win for the Golden Eagles. Columbia Central is now 6-1-2 in the Cascades Conference.

Grass Lake 2, Jonesville 1: The Warriors won the Cascades Conference matchup on the road Monday.

Jackson Christian 0,  Hillsdale Academy 0: The two rivals battled to a draw Monday in soccer action. Coach Nick Barney said the back line of Aidan Earnst, Christian Guerrero, Wyatt Lammon, and Caleb Lanham did “a great job of limiting the Colts’ chances to score.” JCHS goalie Aaden Breton earned the shutout in the contest. Jackson Christian is now 10-2-1 overall for the season.

Jackson 4, Ypsilanti Community 1: The Vikings are riding a six-game winning streak with the victory.

Leslie 2, Michigan Center 1: Spencer Berkeypile scored the Cardinals’ only goal on a free kick. Goalie Henry Wright tallied seven saves in net for Michigan Center.

Girls Golf

Jackson at A.A. Huron: The Vikings finished third in the tri-meet at Ann Arbor Huron. Avery White finished with a 59 to pace Jackson High School.

Boys Tennis

Bronson at Columbia Central: The match was canceled due to busing issues at Bronson. The Golden Eagles are scheduled to play Lumen Christi tonight. Should the match be canceled due to weather concerns, both teams have agreed to play Wednesday.

Western 7, Pennfield 1: The Panthers swept the doubles matches losing only seven games in the process. Morgan Devine/Dylan Rogers had the toughest match winning 6-1 and 6-4 at No. doubles. Bailee Porter/Jack Mannor won 6-2 and 6-0 at No. 2 doubles, Connor Chilson/Alex Bennett swept the No. 3 doubles match 6-0 and 6-0, and Alex Davis/Drew Gillett won by the same score at No. 4 doubles for Western.

Jackson College 3, Oakland Community College 0: The Jets improved to 1-1 in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association with a home win Monday, 25-18, 25-12, and 25-23. Gracen Hager finished with nine kills, Allie Jarchow and Grace Burg tallied seven kills apiece, Alivia Smith dished 25 assists, and Jaden Bates, Samantha Wynn, and Smith combined for 47 digs for JC (10-3 overall). The Jets host St. Clair Country Community College Wednesday for a 7 p.m. start at the Victor Cuiss Fieldhouse.
