Percussion Concussion.  7:30 PM.  This annual event will feature performances by the Detroit Lions Drumline and a lineup of local high school drumlines, showcasing a night of rhythm, energy, and community. The Detroit Lions Drumline, the Honolulu Boom, will captivate the audience with their high-energy performance and will also offer pre-show clinics for high school drumline members, providing a unique learning opportunity. The evening will culminate in a grand finale that promises to thrill! Participating high school drumlines include Jackson High, Northwest, Western High, Michigan Center, Columbia Central, Springport, Napoleon, Lumen Christi, Addison, The George Crockett Academy, Jonesville, Mason, and Vandercook Lake. Technology Help for Seniors.  12 – 3 PM.  William Atkinson Hall, Room 218. Join us on Jackson College Central Campus (2111 Emmons Road, Jackson, MI 49203) in room 218 in the William Atkinson Hall weekly from 12 – 3 p.m. Staff from Jackson College’s Solution Center will be available to help with your technology issues. Michigan Theatre presents “The Birds”.  Once again, we are proud to welcome back THE MICHIGAN THEATRE OF JACKSON’S THURSDAY NIGHT FILM SERIES. ADMISSION IS FREE TO ALL MEMBERS  Every THURSDAY for 13 weeks the public will be treated to some of the finest films ever made. The doors to the auditorium will open at 6:30 pm. The box office will be open at 6:30 pm. The cost is $5 per film. Present your Michigan Theatre Membership Card and receive FREE ADMISSION. ABOUT THE FILM: Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) meets Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor) in a San Francisco pet store and decides to follow him home. She brings with her the gift of two love birds and they strike up a romance. One day birds start attacking children at Mitch’s sisters party. A huge assault starts on the town by attacking birds.

Rotary Park Improvements Community Meeting. 6:30 PM.  Before improvements are planned at neighborhood parks, the City of Jackson is looking to get resident feedback. The City’s Parks and Recreation Department is planning two community meetings to engage neighbors on what changes they’d like to see.  Rotary Park will be the focus of the next community meeting planned for Thursday, Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m. at the Boos Recreation Center, 210 Gilbert St. Rotary Park can be found on Jackson’s east side between Deyo and Plymouth streets. It also features a playground, basketball court, ball field, and green space. All Jackson residents are welcome to attend the meetings. The City of Jackson maintains 28 public parks and a pedestrian trail system for residents to use throughout the year.

Eastern Branch Book Sale. Stop by the Jackson District Library Eastern Branch to shop sales on books for all ages. Sale Hours: Thursday, November 7: 9 AM – 8 PM, Friday, November 8: 9 AM – 6 PM, and Saturday, November 9: 9 AM – 2 PM.  This event is presented by the Friends of the Eastern Branch. All proceeds help support JDL programming.

Heroes and High Rollers.  5:30 PM. Join Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity for an exciting evening of games, prizes, and community support. Your participation will directly benefit a deserving veteran in our community by helping us build a new home at 503 Bates in Jackson. This project aims to provide a pathway to stable housing for a local veteran through homeownership.  Casino Games: craps, Texas Holdem, casino war, money wheel, blackjack, roulette, and poker tables. Raffle Baskets & 50/50: Bid on unique items generously donated by local businesses and supporters. Food & Drinks: Indulge in delicious appetizers and beverages throughout the night.
