(11-14-2024, 1:00PM): This week, local area athletes signed letters of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers at the collegiate level across several sports.
Ava Golightly, a senior at Northwest High School, signed a national letter of intent to attend Toledo University to play softball. The Northwest senior has placed her name on the MHSAA record list for both steals in a career with 162 and runs scored in a career with 179. She will be a fourth-year varsity player on the NW girls softball team. Pictured above is Ava with her parents Becka and Jason.
Breyenn Salts, senior at Grass Lake High School, officially committed to Central Michigan University to play softball. She plans on studying Elementary Education while at CMU. She was a member of the state quarterfinal team in her freshman season at GLHS. Pictured below is Breyenn with parents April, Bruce, and brother Gage.
