Stories of Strength: A Cinematic Celebration of Black Voices at the Michigan Theatre. 7 PM. This Black History Month, join us at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson for Stories of Strength: A Cinematic Celebration of Black Voices. Every Monday, from January 27th through February 24th, we’re showcasing powerful films that inspire and spark meaningful conversations. Tickets are just $5. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Celebrate Black voices through the magic of cinema.  Tonight,  “If Beale Street Could Talk”.  From visionary director Barry Jenkins comes If Beale Street Could Talk, a poignant and heart-wrenching love story set against the backdrop of 1970s Harlem. Based on James Baldwin’s acclaimed novel, the film follows Tish and Fonny, a young couple navigating love, injustice, and resilience as they fight to prove Fonny’s innocence after he is wrongfully imprisoned. NWCS Talent Show.  6 PM.  The National Honor Society proudly presents the annual Northwest Community School Talent Show!  It will take place on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the NWHS Cafetorium. All proceeds will support Henry Ford Hospital.
