HIGHLIGHTS & RECAP FROM HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL OF FRIDAY MARCH 6TH & SATURDAY MARCH 7TH 2020

 

4 out of the 8 Girls teams that played on District Final Friday are moving on to Regionals, here is a JTV Sports Weekend Recap:

DISTRICT 83 FINAL AT BRONSON: Bronson defeats Quincy 31-26

Bronson (15-8) will go on to play the District 81 Champion, Byron (22-1), Tuesday at 7pm at Brooklyn Columbia Central High School.

 

DISTRICT 16 FINAL AT NORTHWEST: Holt defeats Jackson 66-52

Jada Patton led the Vikings with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Jackson Lady Vikings finish the season with an 11-9 record. Holt (19-4) will go on to play Battle Creek Central (19-4) on Tuesday at 7pm at Holt. 

 

DISTRICT 51 FINAL AT CHELSEA: 

Parma Western defeats Eaton Rapids 45-34

Hillary Griffin leads Western with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Western picks up their 20th win of the season, which ties the all-time school record. The Panthers will play against Haslett in Regionals on Tuesday at 5:30pm tip-off at Fowlerville High School. 

 

DISTRICT 82 FINAL AT LUMEN CHRISTI: Lumen Christi defeats Leslie 38-30

Lumen Christi only allowed 11 points through Quarters 2-4 as they were not matched on Friday night to unexpectedly win the District 82 MHSAA Girls Championship. Cat Carroll led Lumen with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Lumen Christi (9-14) will play against the District 84 Champion, Michigan Center (19-3) on Tuesday at 5:30pm at Brooklyn Columbia Central High School. 

 

DISTRICT 84 FINAL AT GRASS LAKE: Michigan Center defeats Brooklyn Columbia Central 47-35

Columbia Central scored 18 points in the 4th Quarter, but it wasn’t enough. Michigan Center struck first with a lead, and never looked back. Shea Tripp led Michigan Center with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals. Columbia Central finishes with a 20-3 record and an LCAA Conference Crown for the 2nd straight year. Michigan Center (19-3) will play Lumen Christi (9-14) at Brooklyn Columbia Central High School on Tuesday at 5:30pm.
