(July 29, 2024 5:33 PM ET) The Jackson College Astronomical Observatory is hosting a special late-night event this Wednesday, July 31 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. outdoors.

Gaze up at the night sky and witness the stunning Southern Delta Aquariids, Alpha Capricornids, and Perseids meteor showers! It’s a rare opportunity to see these celestial wonders up close.

Grab your friends and family and join us for an unforgettable evening of stargazing and cosmic wonder. Community members welcome. The Astronomical Observatory site is located on the east side of campus; enter from Emmons Road and follow the service drive to the left. In addition to the observatory, a cement pad and piers with power supply are available for amateur stargazers to set up their own telescopes.
